Wood Selection

White Maple

The hardest of the hardwoods we use. Known for its uniform light color and subtle grain pattern. A great choice for a small room or anywhere a light tone is important. The most popular choice.

Cherry

Also a popular choice. Its rich red tone darkens to an even richer patina over time. To many, nothing compares to the statement cherry makes.

White Oak

We especially like the cathedral pattern of flat sawn oak. Gustav Stickley, Frank Llyod Wright and others were big fans of white oak.

Walnut

One of the most celebrated American hardwoods, known for its fine-yet- open grain, unique pattern and bold dark color. Also more expensive but arguably worth it.

Finish Choices

Clear

We like clear, naturally finished woods. Our clear finishes feature a satin conversion varnish, providing the same durability common to kitchen and bathroom surfaces.

Stained

Woods can be stained to any color you choose or, if you bring us a sample, we can probably match or come close to matching it to the wood you choose

Painted

Would you prefer the modern look of paint? Bring us a store color chip or actual piece. Or just the manufacturer’s product number and color name, and we’ll make a sample for your approval.
